The civic Standing Committee is of the view that corporators have less importance than the common citizens for the TMC। The committee members feel that citizens succeed in getting their works done by the officials through complaints in the Lok Shahi Dins, but nothing is done when corporators raise issues during the monthly General Body meetings The Standing Committee meeting on Friday was uproarious from the very beginning over basic civic issues of water supply and sanitation. The entire House seemed dissatisfied over the lack of the two basic civic amenities. Hanumant Jagdale, the leader of opposition in the TMC House alleged that the complaints of member corporators pertaining to erection of illegal buildings, lack of water supply and sanitation in public interest get cold shouldered by the civic officials. Jagdale felt that municipal commissioner Nandkumar Jantre was giving proper attention to the problems of the corporators whenever he was approached. "The TMC officers have, however declined to take the proposals of the corporators seriously even after being instructed by the commissioner," he claimed in the house meeting. Jagdale's claims were supported by members of the opposition, as well as members of the ruling alliance in the TMC house. ।
